State’s active COVID-19 cases drop by nine

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s number of active COVID-19 infections dropped by nine in numbers released by the Department of Health today. South Dakota has 76 new confirmed cases to go along with 85 new recoveries, lowering the active cases to 820 (there were 864 one week ago).

The number of deaths remained the same at 118, and there are currently 62 hospitalizations associated with the virus.

South Dakota has had 8,019 confirmed cases total, 7,081 recoveries, and 91,826 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County reported two new confirmed cases and three new recoveries, lowering the number of active cases to 16. In all, the county has had 368 confirmed cases, 350 recoveries, 3,696 negative tests and two deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 3,889 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 750, Beadle County with 571, and Lincoln County with 422.
