State’s active COVID-19 cases drop slightly

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped slightly according to numbers released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The state reported 48 new confirmed cases along with 56 recoveries, lowering the active infections by eight down to 864 (there were 875 one week ago).

There were no new deaths, so that total remained at 109. There was one less hospitalization, lowering that number to 62.

So far, South Dakota has had 7,572 confirmed cases, 6,599 recoveries, and 84,592 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County has two new cases, one new recovery and 20 active cases. The county has had 361 confirmed cases, 339 recoveries, 3,483 negative tests, and two deaths.

Minnehaha County has had 3,778 confirmed cases, followed by Penning County with 649, Beadle County with 553, and Lincoln County with 400.
