State’s active COVID-19 cases increase by nine; no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s number of active COVID-19 cases rose by nine on Monday, according to totals released by the South Dakota Department of Health.

The state reported 49 new confirmed cases to go along with 40 new recoveries, pushing the active infections to 917 (there were 829 one week ago). The number of deaths remained at 123.

South Dakota has had 8,444 total confirmed cases, 7,404 recoveries, 98,383 negative cases, and there are currently 47 hospitalizations because of the virus.

Locally, Brown County did not have any new cases and currently has 20 active infections. The county has had 379 total confirmed cases, 357 recoveries, 3,913 negative tests and two deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,036 total confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 786, Beadle County with 583, and Lincoln County with 489.
