State’s active COVID-19 cases rise slightly

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – South Dakota’s active COVID-19 cases rose by four on Monday in figures released by the state health department. There were 25 new confirmed cases which pushed the state’s total to 872 active infections (there were 945 one week ago).

The state’s death total remained at 109. There are currently 63 people hospitalized with the virus.

So far South Dakota has had 7,524 confirmed cases, 6,543 recoveries, and 83,854 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County reported one new case, bringing the active cases to 19 in the county. There have been 359 confirmed cases, 338 recoveries, 3,375 negative tests, and two deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 3,760 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 641, Beadle County with 553, and Lincoln County with 397.
