State’s active COVID cases decrease; no new deaths reported

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s number of active COVID-19 infections dropped by 37 according to totals released by the South Dakota Department of Health today.

The state had 44 new confirmed cases to go along with 83 new recoveries, lowering the amount of active cases to 866. (There were 808 one week ago). There were no new deaths, leaving that number at 129.

Overall, South Dakota has had 8,685 confirmed cases, 7,690 recoveries, and 101,660 negative tests. There are currently 44 hospitalizations associated with the virus.

Locally, Brown County had five new cases and no new recoveries, increasing the amount of active cases to 32. Overall, the county has had 395 confirmed cases, 360 recoveries, 4,015 negative tests and three total deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,133 total confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 804, Beadle County with 585, and Lincoln County with 523.
