State’s active COVID cases drop by 11

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s current active cases of COVID-19 decreased by 11 according to numbers released by the South Dakota Department of Health today.

The state had 79 new confirmed cases to go along with 90 new recoveries, lowering the active infections to 864 (there were 800 a week ago). The number of deaths remained at 98, while the current hospitalizations dropped by 10 down to 54.

So far South Dakota has had 7,242 confirmed cases, 6,280 recoveries and 78.984 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County did not have any new cases and added one new recovery. The county has 16 active cases. Brown County has had 350 confirmed cases, 332 recoveries, 3,224 negative tests, and two deaths.

Minnehaha County has had 3,706 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington with 606, Beadle with 549 and Lincoln with 376.
