State’s active COVID cases up 485, hospitalizations up 22, no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s active COVID cases went up by 485, there with 22 more hospitalizations and no new deaths according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The state had 1,006 new confirmed cases and 521 recoveries, moving the active infections to 18,624. There are currently 582 people hospitalized in association with the virus. The state’s COVID-related death total remained at 644.

So far, the state has had 67,284 confirmed cases and 48,016 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 42 new confirmed cases and 26 recoveries, increasing the amount of active cases to 706. Overall, the county has had 2,980 confirmed cases and 2,264 recoveries. There have been 10 total COVID-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 17,452 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 7,159 and Lincoln County with 4,601. Other counties totals include Codington with 2,289, Brookings with 2,102, Davison with 1,983, Beadle with 1,975, Lawrence with 1,690, Meade with 1,465, and Oglala Lakota with 1,418.
