ABERDEEN, S.D.(WNAX)- With a stop in his hometown of Aberdeen to make the official announcement, South Dakota Secretary of State Steve Barnett is running for a second term.

Barnett says he and his office helped voters navigate through a pandemic year election.

Barnett says they also survived the bulk of the 2022 legislative session.

Barnett served two terms as state Auditor before being elected Secretary of State in 2018.
