RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Running as an alternative Republican choice to Governor Kristi Noem is Steve Haugaard, who has served in the state House of Representatives since 2015, including a stint as Speaker of the House.

Haugaard said the decision-making process for his governor run is a response to the last few years of policymaking.

Haugaard specified what those problems are.

Haugaard reflected on the perspective he’d bring to the Governor’s desk.

Alongside Haugaard and Governor Noem is Jamie Smith, a Sioux Falls Democrat, has announced his intention to run.
