PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- It wasn’t our imagination; the Halloween displays in many stores were cleared out quickly to set up for Christmas.

South Dakota Retailers Association Executive Director Nathan Sanderson says that was deliberate.

Sanderson says while people may plan to spend the same this holiday season, it will buy less.

Sanderson says retailers still face similar challenges.

Sanderson says retailers will depend on quality products and good service to keep customers coming back.
