SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – Despite the cool rainy weather, we could see a change to warmer, stormy weather in the next few weeks.
Peter Rogers, warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has been holding storm spotter classes across the region.
Rogers, who made his presentation in Yankton Wednesday night, says they work with changing technology.
The storm track has been very active across the southern U.S. with multiple outbreaks of tornadoes. Roger says it is hard to make a northern plains prediction from that.
Rogers says the Sioux Falls office issued only thirteen tornado warnings last year.
