PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A new report confirms that hunger is still a problem in South Dakota. The study from hungerfreeamerica dot com says almost ninety-five thousand people are short of food in the state including many families with kids.
Megan Kjose, Development Director with Feeding South Dakota, says they are still seeing a growing need.
Kjose says their numbers are close to what Hunger Free America is reporting.
Kjose says rising costs are driving more people to their food distribution centers.
Kjose says they are also having a more difficult time finding the necessary food supplies to keep their centers fully stocked.
