Sturgis High School conducts Freshman Choices Simulation exercise

STURGIS, S.D. (KBHB) – A realistic accident scenario awaited freshmen at Sturgis Brown High School today, as area law enforcement, E-M-T’s and others held the annual Freshman Choices Simulation exercise.

The annual exercise helps community police and EMS responders teach students about the dangers of driving while impaired.

Sturgis Brown High School Principal Pete Wilson says it shows the students the consequences of the choices they make.

Wilson says they make the scenario seem as real as it can be.

Organizers of the event say they hope learning through seeing is what hits home for the students.
