PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The number of suicides in South Dakota continues to rise and state officials are reacting.
Department of Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon appeared before the House Health and Human Services Committee and had some of the details.
Malsam-Rysdon says Governor Kristi Noem asked a number of state agencies to address the issue.
Malsam-Rysdon says it will take some time to make a difference.
Malsam-Rysdon told the committee they hope to have more details later this year. The committee took no action.
