Summit Carbon Solutions testified before SD Senate Committee last week

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Summit Carbon Solutions, based in Iowa, wants to build a pipeline to transport carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and South Dakota to underground storage in North Dakota.

Jake Ketzner, vice president of governmental affairs for Summit Carbon Solutions, appeared in front of the South Dakota Senate Commerce and Energy Committee last week.

He says they are in the process of gathering CO2 (see oh two) commitments from those plants.

Ketzner says the process would result in low carbon ethanol.

Ketzner says keeping ethanol profitable is one of their goals.

Ketzner says they would have about five hundred miles of pipeline in South Dakota. He says they will soon make their application to the Public Utilities Commission.
