Supporters for Amendment L asked for ads to be removed

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- The election battle is ramping up on Amendment L on South Dakota’s ballot.

The Amendment would increase the percentage of votes required to approve a Constitutional Ballot amendment from the current simple majority up to 60%.

Opponents are airing ads the claim the amendment supporters are funded by California billionaires.

Sioux Falls Representative John Hughes says that simply isn’t true.

Hughes says the Amendment is aimed at preserving the South Dakota Constitution.

Amendment L supporters have sent cease and desist letters to the media, asking them to stop airing the ads they say are misleading and untruthful.
