Supporters of Amendment “C” held a tele-town hall

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Supporters of Amendment “C” held a teletown hall Wednesday night to rally voters ahead of the June primary.

Amendment “C”, if passed would require any ballot issue costing ten million dollars or more to pass with a sixty percent margin.

Grover Norquist with the national groups “Americans for Tax Reform” said most tax increases become permanent.

Amendment sponsor, Representative Jon Hansen of Dell Rapids says they want to make it more difficult to raise taxes.

Hansen says the amendment would only apply to statewide issues.

Opponents of the amendment say it would lead to governing by the minority.
