Suspect not found following incident in northern Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. (aberdeennews.com) – First responders and tactical teams were dispatched to north Aberdeen on Monday afternoon to a report of a domestic assault and were on the scene for nearly nine hours.

The suspect they were looking for, however, was not found.

Teams moved into the area around 12:30 p.m. A suspect had been reported as armed, according to Capt. Jay Tobin with the Aberdeen Police Department. By 9:15 p.m. authorities had entered the residence, but did not find the suspect.

Leading up to that time, authorities used a number of tactics to locate the suspect in the home and try to flush him out.

The domestic assault was reported in the 100 block of Seventh Avenue Northwest at 12:20 p.m., according to the Brown County Communications Center dispatch log.
