PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission approves a request by a proposed wind farm to move a set of power lines needed for the project. Mollie Smith is a lawyer representing the Sweetland Wind Farm and says they would like to adjust the route of a transmission line on the project.
Smith says there are multiple reasons why WAPA wants the line moved.
Commission Chair Chris Nelson had only one question about the request.
The motion by Sweetland was approved by unanimous vote. The Sweetland Wind Farm is wind- energy project approved for up to 71 wind turbines in southeast Hand County approximately six miles southeast of Miller. The project has had a permit for construction since July 31st of 2019.
