PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A task force working on new social studies standards for K -12 schools in South Dakota had their first meeting last week.

State Department of Education Secretary Tiffany Sanderson updated the Board of Educational Standards at their meeting last week.

Sanderson says they are also doing a full review of educational content.

Sanderson says they are following the guidance issued by Governor Kristi Noem.

No official action was taken by the board.
