YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – A legislative task force will meet this summer to continue monitoring ongoing changes to the property tax system.

Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says the task force will implement a study authorized by the legislature this year.

Kennedy says they will use several counties to test the new soil study system.

Kennedy says those studies may lead to more changes in the future.

There have been complaints about the productivity model of assessment, especially in transition areas between crop ground and pastures.
