MILBANK, S.D.(KXLG)- Two teams from Milbank competed in the Special Olympics state Special Olympics basketball tournament at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls on March 25-26. More than 60 teams and 900 athletes participated.

The Milbank schoolers team placed third, and the adult team placed fourth. Player Reese Schuneman was given the Spirit-Sportsmanship Award.

The teams each played four games over the weekend. When they weren’t on the court, the players also participated in activities such as swimming and a Saturday night dance. On Friday, they participated in the opening ceremonies at the Sioux Falls Skyforce basketball game.
