Teenage girl killed in ATV crash southeast of Selby

SELBY, S.D. (Press Release) – A 15-year-old female died Sunday afternoon in an ATV crash southeast of Selby.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family members. She was the only person involved.

A 2017 Polaris Ranger XP 900 EPS ATV was northbound on 308th Avenue, which is a gravel road, when the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled and the driver was thrown from the ATV. She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a helmet.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
