Teens arrested in stabbing incident in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – Two teenagers from Pierre are charged with Aggravated Assault and Underage Consumption and their victim was treated for serious injuries after a stabbing incident Sunday morning in Pierre.

Information from the Pierre Police Department says officers were called to the 500 block of South Jackson Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. after Central South Dakota Communications received a 911 call from a male victim who reported he’d been stabbed. Upon investigation, officers learned the victim had been at a residence when he was stabbed by 18-year-old Kyanne Redwater. Redwater’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Taylor Cook, retrieved a knife and began chasing the victim from the area of residence. The victim said Cook intended to stab him as well.

Officers later located Cook and Redwater and took them into custody. Both were charged with Aggravated Assault and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. Cook was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a marijuana pipe was located on his person.

The victim was treated for serious non-life threatening injuries at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.
