The movie “Battle Kursk” finished filming in South Dakota last week

PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- After having to postpone last fall because a crew member got COVID, a week of filming movie scenes in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area wrapped up last week.

Pierre filmmaker Luke Schuetzel (shut-zl) says he used the extra time to make some changes to the script.

Schuetzel says “Battle Kursk” is set in Russia during WWII.

Schuetzel says it’s a war movie with a bit of a Western flare.

If things stay on schedule, Scheutzel expects “Battle Kursk” to be out early next year.

On a personal note, Schuetzel and his wife Trinity had the Pierre hospital’s first baby of the new year. He says little Evelyn and other family members do make appearances in the move.

Among the actors staring in “Battle Kursk” are Dolph Lundgren, who people may know from the Rocky movies.
