The MVPA convoy made its way through Webster & Milbank

MILBANK, S.D. —  The Military Vehicle Preservation Association made its way through Northern South Dakota this week as it continues a Yellowstone Trail Cross-Country Military Convoy.  The 7th annual event departed from Aberdeen Wednesday traveling east along a segment of the Yellowstone Trail in South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, ending in Ohio.  The convoy is making numerous stops along the way.  John Varner’s 1953 Dodge ambulance is one of more than 40 vehicles in the long convoy.

He said that, among the participants is a vintage staff car.

He says theirs is a national group with 10,000 members.

South Dakota stops along the way included Webster and Milbank.  The participants come from all over the country, including South Dakota.  Varner says that one individual who has been participating for several years is from New Zealand.  His Jeep is stored in Los Angeles.  The convoy will end in Ohio August 20 where they will be holding their annual convention.
