Three Aberdeen residents arrested for burglaries of storage units

ABERDEEN, S.D. (APD Facebook) – A joint investigation conducted by the Aberdeen Police Department, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and the Division of Criminal Investigation culminated in the arrests of three suspects for the recent rash of storage unit burglaries.

DeWayne Detanuski Ross, age 30 of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with parole violation, ingesting controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and 6 counts of 3rd degree burglary.

Ashley Alexandra Wright, age 28 of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with ingesting controlled substance and 6 counts of 3rd degree burglary.

Alicia Yvonne Stevens, age 23 of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with 6 counts of 3rd degree burglary.

Additional charges are expected.

The storage units affected were both within the city limits of Aberdeen as well as in the county. Some of the locations that were discovered to be involved had not yet been reported to us.

If you rent a storage shed in the Aberdeen area, please inspect it. If you find the lock missing or damaged, please inventory your items. If you are missing property that you have not yet reported, please call 626-7911 and ask to speak to an officer.
