Aberdeen, S.D.(Press Release)– Thunder Road in Aberdeen, South Dakota, is celebrating its 27th Anniversary this year. The local family-owned business opened its doors in Aberdeen for the first time in August of 1994 and has since expanded into locations in Sioux Falls and Watertown, South Dakota.
In honor of Thunder Road Aberdeen’s 27th Anniversary, the park will be offering their signature 3-Hour Wristband for $27 (plus tax) from July 26-29. The wristband includes unlimited access to go-karts, mini-golf, bumper boats, and the Laser Maze Challenge, Euro Bungy can be added for an additional $5. The wristbands are available for purchase from 1-7 pm.
The family entertainment center, located inside Wylie Park, began with an 800-foot go-kart track, and after its first summer open, a bumper boat pool was added. The Park continued its expansion with the construction of a miniature golf course in 2004, the addition of Euro Bungy in 2012 and Laser Maze Challenge in 2015. Thunder Road Sioux Falls location has expanded its park throughout the years with the addition of a 28,000 square foot building with 8 lanes of bowling, 2 story laser tag, mini bowling, axe throwing, bumper cars, 7D Theater, 45 arcade games, and a restaurant and snack bar. This season, Wylie Thunder Road introduced a fleet of revamped Go-Karts.
With the cold winters that descend upon South Dakota each year, Thunder Road in Aberdeen is open seasonally since the attractions are outdoors. Recognizing that the Aberdeen community deserved a venue that offered year-round fun, co-owners of Thunder Road Aberdeen, David and Holly Novstrup and Al and Kathy Novstrup, opened the indoor family entertainment center in Aberdeen called Allevity Entertainment in 2020. Allevity features a variety of attractions and food options and offers a unique place to get together with friends and family.
