Thune blasts Dems over police bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. ( — While the U.S. Senate debates the next Defense Authorization Bill this week, Senator John Thune took potshots at Democrats at the Republican press conference, over their blocking the Republicans Police Reform legislation from floor debate.

Thune says that even the national news media called out the Democrats for stopping action on the Republican bill.

The bill was put forth by South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, the only black senator in the Republican caucus. Thune called the blockage of Scott’s bill “playing politics.”

Thune says he hopes another chance to bring a similar bill goes better.
