WNAX (Yankton): With his next possible election more than two years away, South Dakota Senator John Thune is sending out a campaign fundraising plea.

Thune says he doesn’t want to wait until the last minute.

Thune says the cost of a Senate campaign is rising rapidly.

According to the Federal Election Commission, Thune has over eleven million dollars in his campaign fund.

Thune says while he hasn’t official decided on another run in 2022, he wants to be ready.

In his fundraising letter, Thune says “it would be disastrous to let the Pelosi liberals impose their vision on America.”

Thune is currently the Number two ranked republican in the Senate.
