WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will send the articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate next week.

South Dakota Senator John Thune has a message for House Democrats.

Thune says they are looking to model the impeachment trial on that of President Clinton in 1999.

Thune says a majority of Republicans want to proceed with the impeachment trial.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said the trial could begin later next week.
