Thune says getting packing plants restarted is critical

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The U.S. Ag Department is working through details of a plan to pay livestock producers for losses due to the impacts of the coronavirus on the market.

South Dakota Senator John Thune says he was on a call with Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue going over the details.

Thune says Congress may have to come up with more money for the program.
