PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- It’s a role reversal with a touch of poetic justice.

Governor Larry Rhoden:

South Dakota was one of the first states to ban the use of TikTok on state government devices due to security concerns related to its Chinese ownership.

Now, Governor Rhoden says the state is in the running to become home for the Social Media giant.

The Governor has met with Rasner Media of Wyoming, which has made a Bid to buy TikTok.

Rasner Media CEO Reid Rasner is among the leading bidders to buy TikTok.

He hasn’t decided on an operational location if he buys it, but calls South Dakota a strategic partner in his efforts.
