SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Board of Regents says that board member Tony Venhuizen of Sioux Falls has resigned.
He has been elected to the state House of Representatives and will be sworn in on Saturday.
He says he enjoyed his time on the Board.
Venhuizen says the Regents worked to hold tuition steady.
Venhuizen says the six universities saw an increase in freshman enrollment last fall which is a good sign.
Venhuizen served on the Board as a student member from 2003 to 2008. He was then appointed by Governor Kristi Noem in 2021.
