RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Tourism season seems to be off to a hot start in South Dakota, seen in the record setting numbers at The Monument’s recent Morgan Wallen concert.
The controversial country star packed the house, but according to Craig Baltzer, executive director of the Monument, it wasn’t just Rapid City showing up.
Baltzer pointed to the economic impact this scale of show has on the Black Hills.
Baltzer said this one concerts impact is comparable to some conventions hosted in The Monument.
Baltzer said he believes the Black Hills status as a vacation destination will continue to draw people to events at The Monument.
