Transgender issues may be back in front of legislature

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Transgender issues may again return to the 2020 South Dakota legislature.

Dave Owen, President of the State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says many schools are trying to get ahead of the issue.

Owen says he doesn’t expect it to be based on bathroom issues this session.

Owen says his and other business groups are concerned about the message sent by restrictive laws.

Owen is on his pre-legislative tour of Chambers of Commerce around the state.
