PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and two tribal governments are at odds over highway check points on roads through their reservations.
State Tribal Relations Secretary David Flute says the tribes know how to communicate with state government.
Flute says he thinks there are other issues besides the tribes trying to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Flute says he has been in contact with all of the states tribes.
Flute says he thinks the possible construction of the Keystone XL pipeline in western South Dakota is part of the issue with the tribes.
