MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Press Release / HubCityRadio.com) – The Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 Eric Sevareid Awards. The awards, named for the North Dakota-born and University of Minnesota-educated journalist best known for his work as a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television, are presented each spring. The awards honor the best work done by student and professional journalists working for broadcast news operations in small, medium and large markets in our six-state region on radio, television and online.
For this years awards, Hub City Radio’s own David Tukesbrey earned two first place honors. The first category was Sports Play-by-Play (Small Market Radio) for “New Beginnings For Saints Basketball,” during his call of a Presentation College Men’s Basketball game this last year. The other category was Sports Soft Feature (Small Market Radio) for “Remembering Cameron Isreal & Terry Strong.” That segment aired during pregame for the Isreal-Strong Memorial Tournament on KSDN 930 & 102.1.
