Burnsville, MN (NSUWolves.com)– The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2023-24 Wrestling All-Conference teams today with two Northern State Wolves honored. Wyatt Turnquist and Seth Brossard each earned first team All-NSIC accolades.
Turnquist closed out his junior campaign ranked No. 8 in the country, sitting in the top-10 all season. He tallied a 28-6 record and went 7-1 in league action. The Winner native won the 44th Annual Midwest Classic with a 15-7 major decision win over then-No. 7 Jacob Ealy of Pitt-Johnstown. He notched NSIC wins over Cooper Sanders of Sioux Falls (TF 15-0), Kyle Boeke of Augustana (Dec 7-2), Colby Njos of St. Cloud State (Dec 8-2), Kaden Renner of UMary (TF 15-0), Ryan Hrcka of Minot State (TF 15-0), Luke Peterson of Southwest Minnesota State (Dec 4-0), and Isaiah Mlsna of Minnesota State (MD 11-0). In addition, he ranked in the top-10 nationally for technical falls this season with eight in a total time of 28:07. Turnquist is now a 3-time NSIC All-Conference first team selection.
Brossard holds a 12-0 record this season, heading into the first NCAA Division II Championships of his career. The graduate student went undefeated in NSIC duals and ten of his 12 wins this season were by bonus points. The 174-pounder recorded league victories over Bryce Dagel of St. Cloud State (Fall 4:27), Max Bruss of UMary (Dec 12-5), Brody Hemauer of Parkside (MD 11-1), Brody Mohr of Minot State (Fall 1:44), Lucas Hodges of Southwest Minnesota State (Fall 2:18), and Drake Hayward of Minnesota State (TF 22-6). He won the 2024 NCAA Super Region V Championships last weekend with a 3-0 record, scoring 18 team points for the Wolves. This is the first NSIC All-Conference honor of his career.
