SDGA Sanford Futures Tournament w/ local & regional HS & college athletes [Day 2 of 2] @ Larchwood Casino; IA
In the final round of the SDGA Sanford Futures Tournament from Larchwood, IA things got interesting, with a lot of movement on the final day. In the high school girls division, Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun started the day in first place and she’d finish at the top, too. She carded a 75 for the day, which included three birdies and would be three shots ahead of second place Jayce Pugh from Miller, SD. Braun won this Futures tournament, too back in 2022. As for Jayce Pugh, she improved by five strokes from day one to day two. In the high school boys division, Watertown’s Jake Olson started the day tied for seventh and his furious fight to the finish put him in first at the end of the day. Olson carded a 68 and that included five birdies. For the college golfers, Harrisburg’s Reese Jansa started the final day tied for fourth and four shots back, she would be the medalist for the tournament. Jansa shot a 71 and improved her game by seven shots; she sunk five birdies and even an eagle on the 9th hole. Finally, for the college guys, Aberdeen’s Lucas Schaefbauer stayed ahead of the field and never looked back. He finished three shots ahead of the competiton, carding a 68 for the day, including seven birdies and finished eight under par for the tournament. Check below for the leaderboard from Tuesday.
