ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- Independent candidate for the U.S Senate Brian Bengs was in Aberdeen Tuesday talking to voters at the Brown County Fair.

Bengs joined the KSDN Midday Report prior to that to update on his campaign.

Last week the Democratic candidate Julian Beaudion announced that he had withdrawn his candidacy for U.S. Senate.  Bengs discussed how this could benefit his campaign against the incumbent Senator Mike Rounds.

Beaudion also indicated he will not be endorsing either candidate for the Senate seat.  He also accused Bengs of going beyond just politics in trying to force him out of the race.  Bengs reacted to that.

Senator Rounds also commented on Beuadion’s withdrawal.  He went after what Bengs would do if elected in the Senate.

Rounds believed Bengs is a socialist candiate.  Bengs attempted to clarified that.

Rounds also believes that Bengs will look to expand ObamaCare.  Bengs said that ObamaCare needs to be replaced with a public option.

Rounds also discussed Bengs would raise taxes.  The federal deficit is now approaching forty trillion dollars.  Bengs was asked how he would addressed that.

Rounds also commented on Beng’s abortion stance.  Bengs discussed what his view on abortion are.

Rounds also believed that Bengs will go after second amendment rights.  Bengs also looked to clarify that.

Bengs needs Republican votes in order to be the next Senator.  He was asked about how he would try to get those.

The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd.
