VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – Universities in South Dakota will start classes on Aug. 19 and wrap up by Thanksgiving to limit possible exposure to the coronavirus.
At the University of South Dakota, some programs, like the law school and the school of medicine, have different academic requirements.
USD President Sheila Gestring says they are making their own adjustments.
Gestring says students in those schools can stay close to their own facilities.
Gestring says they are also rearranging facility use.
The universities will also be using virtual orientation sessions and spread out when students can move into the dorms in August.
