Universities watching indicators on enrollment and revenue

VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – Many colleges and universities are looking ahead to a shorter fall term and a combination of online classes to help students and staff avoid more exposure to the coronavirus. That has led to fears of losses of students and revenue.

University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring says they are watching a lot of indicators.

Gestring says they are not seeing a big drop in fall numbers.

Gestring says they need a few other pieces to fall in place.

Public universities in South Dakota will start classes on Aug. 19 and wrap up the fall semester by Thanksgiving.
