Upcoming South Dakota Budget to be decided this week

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- When legislators return to Pierre on Monday, the priority will be to put the pieces of the budget together.

District 17 Representative Chris Kassin of Vermillion, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says they have to decide on how much spending the state can afford.

While the Governor proposed a five percent increase for state employees, schools and community providers, Kassin says they may be able to go higher.

Kassin says all of the increases may not match.

The session is down to the last four days of the main run.
