ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Leslie Morrow, Executive Director for the South Dakota chapter for the Alzheimer’s Association provided an update on advance made in the fight agsinst this dreaded disease.
Murrow talks about the latest medications that are now approved by the FDA(Food & Drug Association) to combat this.
Murrow discuss a study done back in July.
A government shutdown is now in effect. Murrow was asked how this could impact progress made against the disease.
Murrow preview a seminar coming on Thursday to talk more about Alzheimer’s.
Murrow remind everyone about the caregiver support group addressing this that meet each month.

“More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, nearly 12 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In South Dakota, there are more than 16,500 people living with the disease and 27,000 caregivers.”
