ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is coming up on Saturday, October 3rd starting at 10AM.  You can register either the day of the event or in advance on their website.

Executive Director of the SD Alzheimer’s Association Leslie Morrow provided an update on the progress made to find a cure for the disease.  She talked about new blood testing that can be done to detect this.

Morrow also talked updated treatment for the early stages of Alzheimer’s.

Morrow talked about how many in South Dakota has this disease, the numbers of caretakers in the state and how much money would be needed for those services.

On Friday, October 2nd, the Association are hosting a seminar at 10AM at the ARCC.  The theme for this one is focusing on caretakers.

At the start of the walk on Saturday, those participating will be receiving pinwheel flowers.  Morrow goes over what each color stands for.
