VERMILLION, S.D.(WNAX)- Despite some cold weather, construction is continuing on the new elementary school in Vermillion.
Superintendent Damon Alvey says its starting to take shape.
Alvey says construction stopped for a few days in December.
Alvey says the contractors are able to work through most of the snow and cold.
Voters approved a twenty six million dollar bond issue in 2021 for the new school that will replace the two aging elementary school buildings. The new school is set to open for fall 2024.
