BRYANT, S.D.(KWAT)–Hamlin County Sheriff Chad Schlotterbeck says foul play was NOT involved in a fire last month at W.W. Tire on West Main Street in Bryant.

The early morning fire on October 19th resulted in fire damage to a portion of the building, and smoke damage throughout.

The sheriff says the State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and determined it started as an electrical fire in a truck that was parked inside the building undergoing repairs.

The fire spread to the fuel tank on the truck destroying it, along with two trucks parked on either side of it.

Fire departments from Bryant, Hazel, Lake Norden, Willow Lake, Badger, and Hayti battled the blaze for several hours.

There were no injuries.
