WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–Another milestone moment for the new two sheet ice arena on Watertown’s east side. The city will have the temporary certificate of occupancy in hand on Monday.
City Manage Amanda Mack explains what that means.
Some aspects of the “move in” have already happened.
A groundbreaking on the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena was held September 7, 2022.
All in all, Mack says the construction timeline held pretty close to what they were hoping for.
The cost of the project is $36.5 million.
The first event in the new arena will be the Girls State Hockey Tournament the first weekend in March.
Mack says an open house and public tours are planned for sometime in April.
