ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Back in September, District 8 South Dakota Senator Casey Crabtree announced he was running or the U.S. House seat currently occupied by Congressman Dusty Johnson.
On Tuesday, Senator Crabtree talked about how his campaign on KSDN Nightly Report.
Crabtree continue to talk about what his message is to South Dakotans.
South Dakota News Watch conducted a poll in October about the race for the Republican ticket for the U.S. House. The poll showed Attorney General Marty Jackley had 52% compared to just 5% for Senator Crabtree. Here’s Senator Crabtree response to that.
One thing voters appear to have issues with the last two years was the issue of CO2 sequestration. In 2024, the South Dakota Legislature passed SB201(Landowner’s Bill of Rights) that was signed by Governor Noem. Voters petitioned that and a number of legislators that supported it were defeated in that year’s primary. HB1052 which banned eminent domain for the pipeline was passed and signed by Governor Rhoden. Senator Crabtree defended his vote for SB201 & against HB1052.
Crabtree was asked the role the current chair of the Republican Party, Jim Eschenbaum should play in the June Primaries.
Back in 2024 only 17% of registered voters came out in the primary. Senator Crabtree expect that to increase and also comment on how he will get his voters out to the poll in June, 2026.
